And my final post of the day...being Thanksgiving and all, I thought I'd write an entire post about food! I know I'll be eating enough of it today (starting with stewed pears over french toast for breakfast - yummy!), so it's a good time to share in the gluttony, eh?
Carter has been QUITE the adventurous, mainly organic, eater. Haven't found a food yet that he won't eat, which is hopefully putting him on the right path toward a healthy lifestyle. We typically feed him the same foods that we eat (yeah, yeah ignore the sweets in the photo below - it was Matt's birthday) and he's enjoying more chunky food of late. Thought this next photo looked a bit like a rainbow, which is exactly how the Greenies try to eat:

We send our homemade food to school with him, so we know that he's eating what we want him to be eating. It's entirely adorable when his teachers ask him, "What the heck was Carter eating today?!" (Since they keep a log and I only mark the jars with "fruit" or "veg," it's fair that they ask, right?) This week they asked what that "green stuff" was... When I make them guess, it's even more fun for me! "Broccoli?" she says. "Nope," I said, "it was kale." Then there was the, "What is kale?" response. Entertainment, that's what this is for me!
Alas, here's some photos from the past week or so. Below is our KU babe trying out some peas - all by himself! And yes, there are usually more on the floor and in his seat (his "food cache" as Matt calls it) than those that make it in his mouth. Amazing watching his motor skills become refined!

Got one! Good job, Carter!

Next up - cute photos from his pumpkin-blueberry breakfast. It looked a little, um, brown once mixed and all over his face, he looks like he has a little mustache:

He didn't mind me taking photos of it either. As a matter of fact, he's turning into a little ham when the camera comes out... Oh boy...
And finally, the only food that really gets us laughing. Cranberries. While I mix them up with other things (apples, peaches, oatmeal, etc.), the tartness still comes through. He'll make the cutest faces when he realizes how tart they really are (and then opens his mouth up for more) - tried to capture the faces on camera for you:

But maybe the video will help my case - and yes, the wiggling of the feet and swinging the arms is something he does while eating...like every time... Guess eating is just that much fun, eh?
Anywho, that's it for me for today. Again, hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and if you're goofy enough to go shopping on Black Friday, be safe and thanks for helping the economy!
